“My name is Jessie Elliot. I am a nerd and I am still reading, especially Archie’s comics. This is my last summer as a child. In the fall, I will be going to high school at the Maisonneuve High School. There, young people all give themselves the air of I-me-foutists. They hang out with their oozing face and their eyes made up like raccoons, throwing insults at each other. They smoke cigarettes, probably imagining they look like hip-hop stars. Maybe there is a chemical reaction in the human brain that triggers when we are 13 and that makes us instantly stupid? ”
