We’ve been holding off on sharing this until our plans were finalized, but some important news about the Toronto comics library:
As some of you may know, The Centre for Social Innovation (CSI) has had to close their Regent Park location permanently. We are incredibly sad to be leaving Regent Park, but very thankful for the time we’ve had there and the people we’ve met. We are happy to announce that we will be moving to CSI’s Annex location at 720 Bathurst St. next month (April, 2021). We’re so happy to still be accessible downtown Toronto and to be joining CSI’s beautiful Annex location.
We remain closed to the public until it is safe for us to re-open and we’ll let you know as soon as we have a reopening date! In the meantime, we have a few more projects and events coming up virtually that we’re looking forward to.
We want to thank CSI for being accommodating and welcoming to our library and a special big thank you to Denise who has been so supportive of our project in Regent Park and for helping facilitate this move to the Annex. Also, a big thank you to everyone who has stopped by to say hi, browsed the collection, hung out on the couches, attended events, dropped off comics donations, signed up for membership, and checked out the project in other ways online.
If you are looking for ways to continue to support our library project, our calendar fundraiser sale is still going on! It’s a really great mix of artwork by Canadian artists, all created for this project! We also have a Patreon and can accept PayPal donations through our website. We are unfortunately still not able to accept any book donations. We have been closed to the public for over a year now and have been unable to take in memberships fees and in person donations, so any support towards future rent is really appreciated.Thank you so much everyone. We can’t wait until you can browse our shelves safely and hang out at our new location.
